OpenBuildings Designer for Rail Users Training

Who is this course for?

This course is for experienced MicroStation users who are working on rail projects and are interested in learning more about the Building Information Modelling (BIM) approach to design using OpenBuildings Designer.

What will you learn?

This course introduces the workflow, tools and techniques employed within OpenBuildings Designer to design a railway station. Starting with setting up the project floors and grids, you will go on to learn how to create the building envelope, develop the interior and add external structural elements. The training concludes with outputting drawings and schedules from the completed building model.

Length: Two days

Time: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

Where: Online or in-person

Pre-requisites: This course assumes a sound working knowledge of MicroStation 2D and 3D. Working in OpenBuildings Designer requires you to be fully conversant with AccuDraw in 3D in order to orient placement of building elements accordingly. For those unfamiliar with working in 3D, prior attendance of the Everything 3D course is recommended.
