Bluebeam Subscriptions

As a result of the announcement by Bluebeam of their subscription licensing changes from 20th September 2022, you may have questions.

Here are some answers to the frequently asked questions about what happens when these changes are implemented.

You can still continue to use your existing Revu perpetual licence however we would like you to keep in mind the following:

  • Up until mid-2023, you will be able to renew your existing Revu 20 licence contract for one more year only. After this, the subscriptions will be the only option available to all Bluebeam customers.
  • If you decide not to move to subscription, you will not get access to the next major version of Revu (Revu 21), Bluebeam Cloud solutions, or any of the services included with the subscription packages, but you will still be able to use your perpetual license.

You will have the option to transition to subscription and be upgraded to Bluebeam Complete for one year, for the same price as your current renewal. This offer is designed to help you transition to subscription and experience everything Bluebeam have to offer.

Please note that you will need to transition to subscription by mid-2023. At that time, Perpetual Licences and Open licences will no longer be available to purchase. If you are still unsure on what to do please feel free to contact us!

If your Maintenance expires, you will still be able to use your perpetual license, however, you will no longer get access to product updates and premium support for Bluebeam Revu.

Also, you will not be eligible to transition to Bluebeam’s most comprehensive subscription package, Bluebeam Complete, for the same price as your renewal (for the first year).

If you are not ready to transition to subscription when your renewal is due, you have the option to renew your current Open Licence contract and Maintenance for one more year (subject to an approximate 10% price increase on Maintenance).

Following mid-2023 open licenses will convert into 5 seats of the subscription license.

There are three subscription packages tailored for a variety of project needs in the office and the field. Each package includes Bluebeam Desktop (Revu) and Bluebeam Cloud (web & mobile) solutions, as well as services to boost productivity.

Please click here for a detailed description of each subscription package.

Bluebeam Cloud offers a series of solutions that allow you to access, markup and complete entire workflows on the go. For a more cohesive and powerful experience, Bluebeam Cloud works alongside Bluebeam desktop (Revu 21) to remove information silos and improve productivity in the office and the field.

You can trial Revue 21 for 30 days and if you do not like it or decide it is not for you, you can switch back to maintenance by the end of the year.

If you are not ready to transition to subscription when your renewal is due, you have the option to renew your current Open Licence contract and Maintenance for one more year (subject to an approximate 10% price increase on Maintenance).

Customers with existing Bluebeam perpetual licenses with maintenance will be able to add perpetual licenses to their portfolio up until mid 2023. Following then Bluebeam will discontinue perpetual licenses and users will have to transition onto subscription or use their perpetual licenses without support.
