I want to help use data to realise better outcomes for society from the built environment and hope to do so as part of my new role as Data Advisory Leader at Arup. I’ve been lucky enough to work for some of the UK’s biggest infrastructure owners and projects including National Highways, Network Rail, Transport for Wales, Transport Scotland, Houses of Parliament Restoration & Renewal, and Thames Tideway Tunnel, as well as voluntary roles with the DT Hub and Innovate UK.

I get excited about the cloud, ontologies and knowledge graphs, digital twins, taxonomies, data models, BI, interoperability, UI/UX, APIs, open data standards, decision support, automation, gravel biking and alcohol-free craft beer.

I’m currently making the finishing touches to my book ‘Data and the Built Environment’ due 2024 via Springer Nature.
